The definition of a scribe: a member of a learned class in ancient Israel serving as copyists, editors, teachers, writers, wordsmiths, authors, scriveners, journalists and jurists.
I would say I fall in the writer/scrivener category in the above definition. I like to write about food and my favorite recipes, popular topics and products, movies, celebrities, history and geography. By profession I work in IT, with a background in Geographic Information Systems. My childhood was spent living in several countries and multiple states and thus I also write about the places where I have lived or visited as well. There are so many interesting places in the world, the opportunities are endless if you can only afford them!
I felt Scribe Town was an appropriate name for a virtual representation of a town of scribes writing on varied subjects compiled in to one web site. I have many interests and therefore many “hats” resulting in many subjects to write about, just like a town of scribes.
"The pages are still blank, but there is a miraculous feeling of the words all being there, written in invisible ink and clamoring to become visible."
- Vladimir Nabokov, Lectures on Literature, 1980
